ABOUT
Meet Annalisa
Annalisa Facin-Turner, M.Ed., is an Ontario Certified Teacher and lifelong learner with over 20 years of experience in elementary education. She holds a Joint Honours undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Education from Western University, and a Master of Education from the University of Toronto.
Annalisa's passion for supporting neurodiverse learners developed through her work in Special Education, where she supported students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disabilities, language impairments, and ADHD. Her commitment is also deeply personal, having navigated her own son's challenges with learning to read. These professional and personal experiences inspired her to pursue specialized training in evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention.
Annalisa has completed both Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator (OGCE) and Associate Level (A/OGA) training and holds Reading and Special Education Specialist qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers. She holds the Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher Certificate (C-SLCT) through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). Annalisa is also an Acadience Reading K–6 Mentor and has completed Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for Educators Levels 1 and 2 training.
As a Registered Educational Therapist trained through the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD), Annalisa provides individualized, research-based educational therapy that goes beyond traditional tutoring. Her approach addresses academic skills while also strengthening the underlying cognitive processes that support learning, including attention, memory, language, reasoning, executive functioning, and metacognition. By strengthening how students think and learn, she helps students become more confident, capable, and independent learners.
As the founder of Learning Rewired, she brings together her experience in education, structured literacy, and educational therapy to provide individualized support for students and families. Her work is guided by the belief that when students better understand how they learn and are provided with the right support, they can develop greater confidence and independence as learners.
Learning Rewired serves families in Caledon, Bolton, Orangeville, and surrounding communities.

WHAT WE OFFER
Services
Comprehensive, individualized support for your child — from assessment to intervention, with guidance every step of the way.
Consulting
Not sure where to start? This service is designed for parents who want to explore whether Learning Rewired is the right fit for their child. We understand that every child's learning journey is unique—and finding the right support can feel overwhelming.
Whether you're unsure how to interpret a school report, want to better understand your child's learning profile, or need guidance navigating the special education process, this is a great first step. Together, we'll talk through your concerns, answer your questions, and help identify the most appropriate path forward.
A comprehensive battery of formal (perceptual and academic) and informal assessments is used to evaluate a student's learning profile and provide a clear blueprint for intervention. These results help identify the root causes of learning challenges—not just the symptoms.
Areas assessed may include phonological processing, reading fluency, spelling, visual and auditory processing, memory, vocabulary, as well as math fluency and foundational skills. Using this information, we create a personalized one-on-one educational therapy plan to support your child's learning needs.
A psychoeducational assessment is recommended prior to beginning services.
Intervention is individualized to the student and their unique learning profile. Educational therapy and structured literacy support are offered utilizing NILD and Orton-Gillingham approaches.
NILD Educational Therapy goes beyond tutoring by targeting the underlying causes of learning difficulties. Rather than focusing on content alone, NILD builds the cognitive processes and thinking skills that allow students to become independent, confident learners.
Orton-Gillingham is a structured, sequential, and multi-sensory approach to literacy instruction. Grounded in the science of reading, it is explicit, cumulative, and responsive to each student's needs — benefiting all learners, not only those with dyslexia.
