ABOUT
Meet Annalisa
Annalisa is an Ontario certified teacher and lifelong learner, having taught over 20 years in both the primary and junior divisions. She completed a joint honours undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo, a Bachelor of Education at the University of Western Ontario, and her Masters of Education from the University of Toronto.
Annalisa's passion for working with neurodiverse learners began when she worked as a Special Education teacher, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, various learning disabilities, language impairments, and ADHD. She also has first-hand experience as her own son struggled to learn to read.
These experiences inspired her to pursue specialized training in the Orton-Gillingham approach. She completed both the Classroom Educator (OGCE) and Associate level (A-OGA) training. Annalisa holds Reading and Special Education Specialist qualifications with the Ontario College of Teachers, and is a certified Structured Literacy Teacher through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction — a division of the International Dyslexia Association.
Additionally, Annalisa has trained with the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) as a Registered Educational Therapist.
Annalisa currently teaches Grade 1 and lives in Caledon with her husband and two boys.

WHAT WE OFFER
Services
Comprehensive, individualized support for your child — from assessment to intervention, with guidance every step of the way.
Consulting
Not sure where to start? This service is designed for parents who want to explore whether Learning Rewired is the right fit for their child. We understand that every child's learning journey is unique—and finding the right support can feel overwhelming.
Whether you're unsure how to interpret a school report, want to better understand your child's learning profile, or need guidance navigating the special education process, this is a great first step. Together, we'll talk through your concerns, answer your questions, and help identify the most appropriate path forward.
A comprehensive battery of formal (perceptual and academic) and informal assessments is used to evaluate a student's learning profile and provide a clear blueprint for intervention. These results help identify the root causes of learning challenges—not just the symptoms.
Areas assessed may include phonological processing, reading fluency, spelling, visual and auditory processing, memory, vocabulary, as well as math fluency and foundational skills. Using this information, we create a personalized one-on-one educational therapy plan to support your child's learning needs.
A psychoeducational assessment is recommended prior to beginning services.
Intervention is individualized to the student and their unique learning profile. Educational therapy and structured literacy support are offered utilizing NILD and Orton-Gillingham approaches.
NILD Educational Therapy goes beyond tutoring by targeting the underlying causes of learning difficulties. Rather than focusing on content alone, NILD builds the cognitive processes and thinking skills that allow students to become independent, confident learners.
Orton-Gillingham is a structured, sequential, and multi-sensory approach to literacy instruction. Grounded in the science of reading, it is explicit, cumulative, and responsive to each student's needs — benefiting all learners, not only those with dyslexia.
